1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Who can participate?

Any child from birth until the start of kindergarten.

How long will it take?

The program is self-paced. There is no deadline. Every book counts. Books read by others count too. Repetition is key to learning, so you can read your child's favorite books over and over again. 

How do I start?

1.) Register in-person at the youth services department.

• Have an iPhone or iPad running on iOS7 or later? Download the app.

2.) Read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant, or toddler.

3.) Record the book on your paper log or your digital log (through the app).

4.) When your log is complete, turn it in to the Children's Librarian! Little listeners get little prizes for every 100 books!
