NJPAC presents Books on the Move! Special program Sunday Feb 4 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
Join NJPAC Teaching Artist Wincey Terry in a reading of Firebird by Misty Copeland, who made history as the first African-American Principal Dancer with the American Ballet Theatre. Young listeners will role-play parts of the book, recite affirmations and participate in an arts and crafts activity. Refreshments will be served. 25 families will receive a free copy of the book!
Participation is free and open both to residents of Springfield as well as to those who reside in other communities. Families interested in participating will need to register here.
The collaboration of NJPAC with the Springfield Free Public Library aims to promote arts education, interest in reading, and the power of determination, this year showcasing the story of ballet artist Misty Copeland through her own story in Firebird, illustrated by Christopher Myers.
